Philosophy

Linux-based Open Source Teaching and Research Environment

History

IISER Mohali Computer Facility was established along with the institute way back in 2007. This facility provide relevant environment for a wide variety of users. It provides the computation facility to the students, faculty and staff members of the Institute.

CC Phases

Phase-I 2007-08:

Setting up IDC lab for computer course. Web and email services for IISER Mohali. On-line activation of electronic subscription to library journals.

Phase-II 2009-10:

Networking of MGSIPA campus. Adjusting with scale change in institute. Setting up of essential softwares. Adding Computing machines.

Phase-III 2011-13:

Moving to Sector 81 campus. Challenges of temporary locations and half-constructed campus. Setting up network in CAF and hostel for faculty and students. Having BSNL shift to new campus. Bringing IISERM on NKN map. Addition of HPC and other computing machines. Campus automation project becoming a full-fledged activity. Network for residential area. Wifi for hostels.

Applications

IISERM ERP System

The IISERM ERP System has been implemented where a complete database of students and employees of IISER Mohali are maintained and provided Online. All the students can view their Personal Profiles, Semester Grades and the Course Registration for each semester. All the faculty members can view their Personal Profiles, HR Transaction, Purchases and can perform Online grade entries for the students. All the non faculty members can view their Personal Profiles, HR Transaction and their Purchases Online.

Moodle

A free source e-learning software platform "Moodle" has been installed for IISER Mohali Course Management System to provide a quality online courses. All the faculty members can post their course materials/lectures or conduct any kind of activity like quiz, chat, open discussion forum online in Moodle. All the students of IISERM have access to this service for active participation in any courses.

CC Complaints/ Requests

A ticketing system has been implemented for raising any request/complaints to Computer Center. The teaching/non-teaching staff of IISERM are given access and encouraged to use the system . Requests raised in the CC support ticket system will be taken care by Computer Center technicians for closure.

Moodle

IISERM Moodle

A free source e-learning software platform "Moodle" has been installed for IISER Mohali Course Management System to provide a quality online courses. All the faculty members can post their course materials/lectures or conduct any kind of activity like quiz, chat, open discussion forum online in Moodle. All the students of IISERM have access to this service for active participation in any courses.

Login to IISERM Moodle

1. Go to IISERM Moodle

2. Click - Log in using your official account on Google

3. You will see the below error:

Exception - Call to undefined function auth_oauth2\profile_save_data() More information about this error

4. Click on Continue.

5. After Clicking on Continue please repeat from step 1 one more time and you will be redirected to the moodle dashboard.
