The High Energy Physics, Gravity and Cosmology research group at the Department of Physical Sciences, IISER Mohali invites applications for several postdoctoral research associate positions.
The research interests of the group include Astrophysics, Cosmology, Quantum and classical aspects of gravity, Physics beyond the Standard Model, Precision Physics, and Theoretical and experimental particle physics. The current members of the group are: Charanjit Singh Aulakh, Jasjeet Bagla, Aru Beri, Vishal Bhardwaj, Harvinder Kaur Jassal, Satyajit Jena, Pankaj Kushwaha, Kinjalk Lochan, Smriti Mahajan, Ambresh Shivaji, Kulinder P. Singh, and K. P. Yogendran. There are several PhD students and postdoctoral fellows working in the group.
At present, the group is looking for postdocs in the following area of research.
1. Collider Physics Phenomenology of SM and BSM, Precision calculations in perturbative QFT. Familiarity with tools like Madgraph, Mathematica and FORM and working knowledge of programming languages FORTRAN and C++ is desirable.
2. Cosmology and structure formation, cosmological N-Body simulations, galaxy formation and gravitational lensing. More details about the research can be seen at https://web.iisermohali.ac.in/Faculty/jasjeet/index.html
3. Gravity and Quantum field theory : exposure with Quantum Field Theory and General Relativity
The successful candidates are expected to interact with all members of the group. The candidates are also expected and encouraged to participate in the teaching program of the department during the academic semester.
The position is for one year, renewable for a second one, depending upon funding and performance.
