Research Focus: Broadly, I am interested in the field of interdisciplinarity, especially lived experiences, representation, power and knowledge. My specific research interest is in Dalit Studies and Culture Studies. My current research work focuses on human-animal relations at the margins in the Indian context. I argue around castelessness and anti-casteness the representation that is performed through the privileged position and the assertion that happens through the lived experience(s). I state that the content and narratives produced by Dalits on social media, graphic narratives, and Hindi cinema varies substantially and shows their assertive character, while narratives produced by upper castes portray Dalits as victims. Some of my opinion pieces have appeared in the Indian Express, Hindustan Times, The Wire, The Print, and so on. I am currently working on decolonizing the academic space in terms of knowledge production and its circulation. I attempt to do it by bringing the narratives and the voices from the margins into the classroom.
