Research Focus: My research examines how patriarchal and colonial legacies continue to shape women’s legal autonomy in India, seeking to reimagine legal personhood through a feminist and deontological lens. Drawing on Kantian ethics, Ambedkar’s constitutional morality, and feminist legal theory, it aims to ground law in dignity, relational autonomy, and substantive justice rather than abstract formalism. Before joining IISER Mohali as a Ph.D. scholar, I studied law and worked as a legal journalist and compliance manager, conducting POSH trainings and engaging with questions of justice in practice. This progression from legal practice to research reflects a continuing commitment to integrating ethics, gender, and law in pursuit of a more inclusive vision of personhood and rights.
