Research Focus: Through the medium of anime, my research is aimed at investigating the myth of ascension, rebirth, and transhuman apotheosis as seen in the Shonen Fantasy Battle genre. I aim to discover and interpret the causality between society and graphic narratives, and how the syncretic religious ideals are manifested through the growth and rebirth of the characters.
