Moodle FAQs

1. I would like to use moodle for my course from this semester. How shall I proceed ?

IISER Mohali Moodle works with Google SSO Authentication. Click "Google" button in the Moodle login page. You may use your Google credentials provided by the Institute. If you face any login issue, you may raise a ticket in CC Complaints portal .

2. I have a gmail account provided by Institute. I cannot find my course in Moodle.

Any course can be assigned to the faculty in the moodle site based on individual request from faculty members. Before the start of every term, computer centre would send a mail to the faculty members sharing a google spreadsheet to enter your course details. If you want a course page in the middle of any term/semester, you may raise a ticket in CC Complaints portal and request for a moodle course page with your course code and course name.

3. How to take backup of my course so that I can use the same materials in future.

Login to your course and click the link "Backup" in the right panel under Course Administration and follow the steps. A backup file is created in the User Private Area for download or restore.

4. I have taken a backup of my course during last year. Now I need to restore the same for the current session.

Enter into the course where you want to restore. Click Restore in the right panel under Course Administration. You may upload your backup file (file.mbz) under “Import a Backup File”.
Click Restore.
