Northern Regional Workshop for Secondary School Teachers (2026) of Mathematics Teachers’ Association (India) is being jointly organized by Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali.
Concept Note: The workshop aims to engage mathematics teachers teaching classes 9–12 in hands-on mathematical investigations that nurture curiosity, reasoning, and creativity. The sessions will focus on open-ended explorations that foster inquiry-based learning and on problem-solving that emphasises reasoning, generalisation, and proof. It seeks to help teachers design rich mathematical experiences and tasks that deepen students’ conceptual understanding and connect ideas across topics. The role of technology in supporting inquiry and facilitating exploration and proof will also be an important part of the discourse.
The venue of the workshop will be IISER Mohali. Teachers from government and private schools across the northern states, including Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab, will be invited to participate in the workshop.
