3.4 The TEX users group

The most popular type-setting (desk top publishing) software for technical and scientific usage is TEX. While many vendors are in fact selling packages containing TEX, it is freely obtainable for most popular platforms. The author Professor D. Knuth of Stanford University is a well-known authority in computer science and computer type-setting. There is also a TEX users group which brings out a regular bulletin and provides user support of various kinds. This package is so flexible that it is now being used for various Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali etc.
