Advertisement for Project JRF/SRF in a research project funded by MOEF-CC under the NCAP-COALESCE

 

IISER-Mohali (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences) desires to engage a JRF/SRF PROJECT ASSISTANT on purely temporary basis on contract under the MOEF-CC sponsored research project at IISER-Mohali.

Name of Position: JRF /SRF depending on qualifications and experience

 

Essential Qualification: MSc/MTech/BSc in Chemistry/Physics/Atmospheric Sciences.

Candidates must have a good academic record with 75% or above in their final degree for General/ OBC and 70% or above for SC/ST/PD candidates. Candidates must be GATE or NET qualified in the relevant discipline.

Experience in acquiring and interpreting ambient air quality data for trace gases and aerosol is necessary. The candidate is expected to analyse data and publish the results of their data analysis within the tenure of the position.

Fluency in English is mandatory.

 

 Desirable Qualification:

Experience in data analysis and scientific writing

Prior experience/hands-on training in operation, calibration and data processing for any of the following instruments: Multi-wavelength aethalometer (Magee Scientific ME42), NOx analyser, SO2 analyser, Picaro GHG analyser, beta-attenuation PM analyser or Airveda low-cost PM sensors.  

Prior experience/hands-on training in of air mass history analysis (Hysplit back trajectory modelling)

Prior experience/hands-on training in PMF analysis (with EPA 5.0 PMF freeware).

Basic skills in Igor Pro and R (Open air package)

 

Emoluments: As per MOEF-CC Rules.

 

Duration: Till 31st March 2023 with no possibility of extension
