IISER-Mohali (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences) desires to engage a PROJECT ASSISTANT on purely temporary basis on contract under the MOEF-CC sponsored research project at IISER-Mohali.

Name of Position: Project Assistant
Essential Qualification: MSc/ BSc in Physics/ Chemistry/Atmospheric Sciences.
Candidates must have a good academic record with 1st division in their final degree for General/ OBC and upper secondary division, for SC/ST/PD candidates.
Fluency in English is mandatory.
Desirable Qualification:
Experience in data analysis and scientific writing.
Experience in acquiring and interpreting ambient air quality data for trace gases and aerosol.
Prior experience/hands-on training in operation, calibration and data processing for any of the following instruments: Multi-wavelength aethalometer (Magee Scientific ME42), NOx analyser, SO2 analyser, Picaro GHG analyser, beta-attenuation PM analyser or Airveda low-cost PM sensors.
Prior experience/hands-on training in of air mass history analysis (Hysplit back trajectory modelling)
Basic skills in Igor Pro and R (Open air package) or any other programming language
Prior experience/hands-on training in implementing the random forest machine learning algorithm in R
Emoluments: As per MOEF-CC Rules.
Duration: Till 31st March 2023 with no possibility of extension
