Mohali, officially known as SAS Nagar is a modern city situated next to Chandigarh. There are three main ways to reach IISER Mohali.
Air: Chandigarh Airport is just 9 km from the IISER Mohali and is well connected from New Delhi. From Airport, one can take pre-paid taxi, take ola or uber.
We suggest participants take flight to Chandigarh Airport from New Delhi, as it will be safer and less confusing option, if you are traveling for the first time. Then from Airport, take prepaid taxi (on the premises of the Airport itself).
Official currency of India is Indian Rupee (INR) ₹ (symbol), simply known as rupee. One can fins rupees in coins and banknotes.

Currently available denominations are: ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, ₹10, and ₹20 in coins. Notes are found in denominations of ₹5, ₹10, ₹20, ₹50, ₹100, ₹500.
Please be aware that Indian Government has phased out ₹2000 note and by the time conference will start, it will have no value. So, please avoid getting or giving ₹2000 note at any cost. After Septmeber 2023, ₹2000 will be not valid and of no value.
Visa, MasterCard, Rupay, American Express and Discover are accepted in most of shops, restaurant but having cash is always better. However, we still request you to please check with your credit card/bank agency to confirm if it will work or not in India. Also, some business in India avoid accepting foreign cards.
India is generally safe, but it is always better to be avoid taking risk.
Avoid traveling alone and trusting strangers.
Don't trust any travel and tour guide. Go for trusted and more reviewed Agents. Don't fall for cheap travel and tour. Some might be scammers.
Avoid places which are less crowded. Also, be careful about your stuff when you go to crowded places.
