Walk-in interviews for the post of Project assistant in ANRF funded project.
IISER Mohali (Department of Biological Sciences) desires to recruit a Project assistant/ fellow in the neuroscience project entitled: “Decoding and targeting cortical circuitry for nicotine dependency.”

Duration: 18 months
Description of project and duties: The project aims to investigate the cortical neural circuits involved in nicotine dependence and addiction. The project assistant will work closely with a team of researchers, gaining hands-on experience in conducting experiments on mice to map and analyze these brain circuits. Responsibilities will include assisting with surgeries, injections, and behavioral assays related to nicotine addiction. The assistant will receive training in data collection, analysis, and proper documentation to support both audits and scientific publications. Additionally, the role involves contributing to essential lab operations, including the procurement and maintenance of reagents, supplies, and animal stocks necessary for the project.
Eligibility: Candidates with a strong interest and motivation to pursue a career in neuroscience are encouraged to apply. Applicants should hold a B.Sc./M.Sc. or an equivalent degree in Biology, preferably with a minimum of 60% marks. Prior research experience in neuroscience and animal handling will be given preference. Familiarity with genetic engineering techniques and proficiency in computational tools such as Python or MATLAB will be considered an added advantage.
Emoluments: Emoluments as per norms and as sanctioned in the project.
