Walk-in Interview for a Project Assistant position in a DMSP/IIRS/ISRO funded project, Government of India
Applications are invited from Indian citizens for a temporary post of research fellow for the ISRO sponsored project in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali.
Number of Positions: 01 Research Fellow
Duration: 6 months (until Dec 2025, there is no possibility of extension)
Essential Qualifications: BS-MS/M.Sc./M.Tech in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology/Climate Science/ Geophysics/Oceanography/Hydrometeorology/Computer Engineering/Physics or any disciplines related to Environmental Science from a recognized University/Institution with minimum first class (60% marks or equivalent CGPA).
Desired qualifications:
Prior research experience in WRF modelling (WRF) and data assimilation is desired. Familiarity with the analysis of data sets from climate models would be a big plus. Knowledge of appropriate programming languages such as FORTRAN, NCL, Python, R, and shell scripting.
Emoluments: as per norms and as sanctioned in the project.
