Online interview for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a research project funded by DST-SERB, Govt of India
Applications are invited from Indian citizens for a temporary post of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for the SERB sponsored project entitled “Analysis of winter seasonal means and extreme rainfall events over Northern India using observations and high-resolution modelling framework” in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, IISER Mohali.
Number of Positions: 01 Junior Research Fellow
Duration: 1 year (extendable to 1 additional year after progress review and as per the availability of funds)
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc./M.Tech in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology/Climate Science/ Environmental Science/ Geophysics/ Oceanography/Hydrometeorology/ Water Resources/Computer and Civil Engineering/Physics or any disciplines related to Environmental Science from a recognized University/Institution with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Desired qualifications:
Prior research experience in regional or global modelling of the climate or Earth system, preferably experience with limited-area climate models and their coupling with other earth system model components is desired. Familiarity with the analysis of data sets from climate models. Knowledge in appropriate programming languages such as FORTRAN, Python and R; shell scripting.
Emoluments: Rs 31000 + 16% HRA per month.
