Title: Deciphering the function of Claudins in the nervous system
This project will combine C. elegans genetics and behavioural assays with molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry to help us study the role of the Cell Adhesion molecules in the nervous system of C. elegans.
Positions: 1
Duration: 1.5 years
Emoluments: As per DST rules.
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences with an excellent academic record.
Application procedure: Applications should be sent by e-mail only to Dr. Kavita Babu (E-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with a cc to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). The subject of the e-mail should state "Application for JRF position at IISER Mohali". The body of the e-mail should contain a single paragraph description of why you want to work in this project or model system. A detailed biodata should be attached as a PDF file with the e-mail. Along with this biodata, a one-page pdf document containing a brief description of any project you have done and techniques you are able to perform should be attached (please label this second pdf file as- “your name”-techniques). No other attachments or document formats are acceptable. Preference may be given to those with a background in Genetics, Neuroscience or Cell Biology. Prior experience of working with C. elegans is preferred, but not required.
