Applications are invited from Indian citizens for a temporary post of Project Assistant for the CWRDM sponsored project entitled “Hydro-Enforced Topographic LiDAR DEMs for 2D and 3D Hydrodynamic Modeling” in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, IISER Mohali.
Outline of the project: The project aims to develop high resolution LiDAR digital elevation models that could enhances the quality of hydrodynamics for flood risk modeling at finer scales for three rivers of Southern India
Number of Positions: 01 (Project Assistant)
Duration: 06 months
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc./MTech in Geology/ Applied Geology/ Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing & GIS/Geophysics/Geodesy/ Engineering (Geomatics/Computer/Civil) or related disciplines from a recognized University/Institution with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Desired qualifications: Prior research experience in InSAR, LiDAR techniques, and field mapping components is desired. Familiarity with GIS and image processing software, and knowledge in appropriate programming languages such as Python and R is an advantage.
Emoluments: 25000 INR.
