Applications are invited for the position of Project Associate-I in the laboratory of Dr. Amar Deep at IISER Mohali
Job description: One position is available under the externally funded ANRF project titled “Molecular Basis of Specificity and Promiscuity in Diverse Phage Infection-Sensing by the Bacterial PARIS Immune System”. The selected candidate will work on understanding the molecular mechanisms of phage sensing by bacterial immune systems. The candidate should have knowledge of and experience in molecular biology, recombinant protein expression and purification, and basic microbiology. Candidates with prior hands-on experience in these areas will be preferred.
Duration: The appointment will initially be for one year and may be extended based on satisfactory performance, or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
Essential qualifications:
- Four-year Bachelor's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, or Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, or BVSc, B. Pharm, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
- The candidate should have experience in molecular biology, recombinant protein expression and purification, and microbiology.
Monthly Emoluments (As per ANRF/OM/N-01/2024)
(i) ₹37,000/- + HRA for scholars selected through:
(a) National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET, including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), or GATE; or
(b) A selection process through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
(ii) ₹30,000/- + HRA for candidates who do not fall under category (i) above.
