Application for the post of a JRF / Project Assistant (PA) in a research project funded by the SERB, India
Title: Protein folding dynamics at the single-molecule level
This project aims to design protein constructs by systematically varying parameters that contributes in the folding pathway, and quantify the effects at the single-molecule level using high-precision home-build Magnetic Tweezer. The selected candidate is expected to either focus on Instrumentation or molecular Biology part initially depending upon interests, and eventually explore the other aspect.
We are an interdisciplinary research group who use single molecule techniques to understand biology quantitatively. To know more about our research interests, please visit our web-page.
Positions: One
Duration: One year and extendable upon evaluation.
Emoluments (year wise):
For JRF: INR 31000/ 31000/ 35000 + HRA (As per project norms)
For PA: INR 25000 + HRA (As per project norms)
Essential Qualifications:
The applicants should hold a 5 yr master degree in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, or 4 yr-engineering degree in any discipline. The candidate must have qualified GATE and or NET to be considered for JRF. Candidates with no GATE/NET may be considered for the post of a Project Assistant.
It is essential that the candidates have strong interests in learning some of the state-of-the art single molecule techniques we routinely perform in lab using AFM and fluorescence microscope. Interested applicants should fill up Google application form from the attached link and upload a 1-page cover letter (describing their past accomplishments, research interests and career goals in three paragraphs) here:
