Essential qualification: Ph.D. awarded in any of the following disciplines: Microwave Remote Sensing, Applied Geoscience, Geophysics, Geodesy, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
Desired qualification: Experience in handling InSAR processing software such as GMTSAR, ISCE, and MintPy; strong knowledge of InSAR algorithms, geophysical modeling, coastal geomorphology, land subsidence, and coastal processes; proficiency in ArcGIS/QGIS, Python, MATLAB, or other scientific programming languages. A good publication record in peer-reviewed journals using SAR data analysis for coastal studies or geophysical modeling for Earth Observation is desirable.
Job description:
The candidate will work on processing and integrating large archives of multi-resolution SAR datasets (e.g., Sentinel-1, NISAR, and ALOS-1) using advanced MT-InSAR techniques, such as SBAS and PSI. The candidate should be willing to learn and work on geophysical modeling and to apply machine learning techniques to assess coastal exposure analysis under different climate change scenarios. As the project also involves field visits for surveying and results, the candidate should be willing to undertake fieldwork. The candidate capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Emoluments: Rs 61,000/- per month + HRA as per institute norms.
Duration: Initially for 7 months with provision for extension of additional months, subject to performance, and notice period of 1 month by either side.
