My research focusses on understanding the role of alternative sigma factors in regulating gene expression in a plant growth promoting, non- photosynthetic rhizobacterium, Azospirillum brasilense. My group uses gene technology along with genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic tools to understand systems biology of our bug and to use it as a platform for synthetic biology purposes.
