Project Assistant Position (Chemistry) on a DST funded
project at IISER Mohali
Title of the project: Developing next-generation hyperactive nano-catalysts for renewable energy harvesting
Duration: Initially for 6 months, but further extendable
Emoluments: As per Institute rules.
Essential Qualifications: MSc in Chemistry (preferably Physical or Inorganic specialization). JRF/LS, GATE, JEST and DST-Inspire (Chemistry) qualified candidates will be considered with priority.
The candidates should be hard-working and strongly motivated to work on rational design and synthesis of nano and hetero-structured materials for artificial photosynthesis or other renewable energy harvesting related applications. This would require them to work on some aspects of the following: setting up experimental tools and working on photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, in-situ investigation of reaction kinetics, excitons dynamics, X-ray diffraction based structural analysis and atomically resolved structural analysis using electron and atomic force microscope.
The candidate should be inclined to pursue research as a career in future, including a PhD degree.
