Walk in interview for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a research project funded by Department of Science and Technology, India.

Title: Quantum heat engines: work, entropy and information at nanoscale

This project in theory aims to understand the thermodynamic processes and work extraction in models of heat engines using simple quantum systems as the working medium. The proposal provides an opportunity to study interplay of concepts from thermodynamics, information and quantum theory.

Positions: 1

Duration: Six months (possibility of extension upto a year)

Emoluments: As per DST rules

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in physics with good academic record, preferably GATE/JEST/NET qualified. Interests in theoretical physics, in particular quantum theory and/or statistical physics, as well good analytical abilities will be an asset. Candidates must be strongly motivated to pursue research in theoretical physics.
