My research covers  a vast time span from the early British Malabar to the present. This study also  attempts to address the relations between history and memory in India&#8217;s  southwestern coast with particular reference to Mysore- Malabar and Mysore  \u2013Travancore relations. My focus on the south Indian Kingdoms of the eighteenth  century discusses the transmission of ideas in the eighteenth century from both  the European and Ottoman worlds into South Asian polity and society.
